Christmas On The Farm

A PAY WHAT YOU CAN Community Offering

On Christmas Day last year, we hosted a Community PAY WHAT YOU CAN Pig Roast on the farm. It was incredible and we fed over 100 people on Christmas Day. Unfortunately this past year has been a really challenging one for our business and so much of our energy has had to be focused inward, to keeping the business growing and even at times afloat. Farming is just incredibly challenging and some years are better than others!

But it wouldn’t feel like the holidays to us if we didn’t take the time to give back. So although we are not offering our Christmas Day Dinner on the Farm, we are still going to be offering something for our community.

On Friday, December 22nd, we will be stocking the PAY WHAT YOU CAN Produce Stand with lots of beautiful veggies!

We’ll also be offering FRESH whole chickens that we processed on the farm, ready to go into your ovens for your holiday meal on the 24th or 25th AND breakfast meats for your holiday breakfasts as well! We’ll also be putting a bunch of wrapped and age labeled toys under the tree at the stand!

Everything will be out at the stand as a TAKE WHAT YOU NEED and PAY WHAT YOU CAN basis. But we are asking our local community for help. While there are a lot of non profits and churches helping during the holidays for folks locally in Hardeeville, Bluffton, Hilton Head Island and Savannah, our farm serves as an important food hub to folks in further outer lying areas who may not have the transportation or ability to get to those other places. And although our farm is not a 501-c3, you can always still donate in kind, in any amount that is possible for you, to help us continue to keep our mission going of feeding every one in our community, no matter their income level.

By donating to the farm, it helps us cover the costs of the goods that we put out on the PAY WHAT YOU CAN Produce Stand. Your financial support this holiday season, will directly effect and contribute to the number of whole chickens and breakfast bundles we are able to put out. So please, if you’re able, consider giving to the PAY WHAT YOU CAN Community Christmas Offering this year, to help us, continue to help those in our communities in need. And if you have already given, as many of you have at market and even through mailing checks or donating on our website, thank you so much for making this part of our farm possible!
