Learn On The Farm Kids

Hands On Sessions for Kids

Learn on the Farm Kids is a hands on agricultural experience brought to you by Whippoorwill Farms SC and other partners in the community, that immerses kids into nature while helping them connect to where their food comes from and the importance of regenerative farming practices while challenging them to critically think and experience outside learning like never before.

Each Learn on the Farm Kids Session is a 4 week commitment to learn in nature and expand on the experience and knowledge built each week. Each class is 2 hours long, geared toward kids 8-11 years of age. Parents are encouraged to drop their child and come back or wait in the car to give their kids their most independent experience.

Session 4 – June 5, June 12, June 19, June 26

Begin each week’s journey with a nature walk and journal activity and then dive into the hands on farm and nature based curriculum of each session building on week after week, session after session.

Entire 4 week session is paid for in full at the time of reservation. All bookings are final, no exceptions. Classes are held rain or shine. Students should have appropriate dress for the outdoors and weather including closed toed shoes, a notebook and writing utensil and a bottle of water.

About Our Instructors on the Farm

Christine is originally from North Carolina, born and raised. She attended North Carolina State University, where she studied Elementary Education and went directly into teaching third grade in North Carolina. While teaching third grade for three years, she traveled extensively across the world. She has checked off 6 of the 7 continents! She has hiked some of the most difficult trails in the world and thrives off new and exciting situations. After traveling she knew it was time to move from North Carolina. She set her sights on San Diego, CA and was offered a job teaching fourth grade. Unfortunately, the school she taught at had to close. It was time to challenge herself in a new career, the ever-growing world of digital media. Christine now works full time remotely for a TV production company, based in San Diego. With her fiancé in the military, her family made the move to Bluffton, SC where they have resided since July 2021. She and her fiancé have two dogs, Cali and Gunner. In an effort to immerse herself in the Lowcountry community, she was seeking a volunteer opportunity. She came across Whippoorwill Farms and has enjoyed it since Day One. Now she gets the chance to combine her love for working outdoors and with kids into one unique experience; Learn on the Farm Kids.
