Book an Educational Farm Tour

Whippoorwill offers an extensive tour of the farm, that is perfect for small and larger groups alike. This is particular popular with school groups and other touring groups who are looking for an education in regenerative farming practices & cultivating biodiversity through farming.

Typically running an hour to an hour and a half long, owner Marissa Paykos leads the group in an extensive and informative walking tour of the entire farm. This is your chance to see how our pigs and chickens are raised and rotated through our various forest & pasture sections, and how this changes the environment and improves the health of the land and soil. You’ll also have a chance to see our gardens, and get an overview of what farming with organic, no-till practices looks like.

Farm Tours begin at a minimum of $150. For groups over 15 people, the Farm Tour is bookable at $10/person. For more information, to inquire about availability, or to book your Farm Tour, email us at assistantinoveralls@whippoorwillfarms.com or call us at (843) 473-5231.

Lunch & Learn on the Farm

Join us for a special Mother’s Day Lunch on the Farm educational workshop! Come enjoy the natural beauty of the farm and learn about the healing qualities that our bodies integrate when we are in nature. Working with mother earth, care taking the soil, and crafting our inner healing.

Marissa Paykos, owner of Whippoorwill Farms SC, will share her story how the journey to owning a 40+ acre Biodiverse Regenerative Farm started from the desire to heal her mental health and relationship with food and creating a different environment to raise their brand new baby daughter in.

This Lunch and Learn will include a walking farm tour, that will educate you about how Marissa and her family farm with nature, instead of against it, as well as touching on how the farm as helped heal her and others and her personal triumphs and challenges along the way.

The farm tour will be followed by a Farm to Table lunch, outdoors under the Pavilion. The menu will be farm products prepared with love and intention for you.

Beth Donovan from Sol Balance will continue this educational workshop discussing how nature and our nervous system regulate one another. Through science and research we have learned that there are many benefits to being in nature, interacting with the soil, trees and fresh air. Beth will share a grounding meditation practice with you.
