I’ll be the first to admit that cooking grassfed meats has a learning curve. Believe me, I know. It took me a lot of chewy dinners to find the secret.
I’ll be the first to admit that shopping local, especially shopping with our farm, that supplements certified organic and non gmo feed, is very expensive. Believe me, I know. There were years we couldn’t afford to eat our own food as we were getting started. Believe it or not, we still can’t afford to eat our own chicken breast.
But I will be the first to admit also that choosing to be intentional with our dollars with where our food comes from and putting clean food at the top of our family budgeting priority list, is something I’d never change now that we do it.
Eating local has an incredible ripple effect. One that I didn’t understand before we started our farm. From the mental boost of knowing your farmers and your food, to the actual physical difference it makes on your body, to the ripple into the local economy, ecosystem and environment. Shopping and sourcing local is life changing.
